Location provisioning gateway for low performance cargo IoT devices - LOPRO
This technology is about LDAF: Low-Bandwidth Distributed Applications Framework which is an application-aware gateway for communication-constrained Internet of things (loT) devices.
Inventors will design and develop customized services for the LDAF: Low-Bandwidth Distributed Applications Framework which is an application-aware gateway for communication-constrained Internet of things (loT) devices. A modular approach facilitates connecting to existing cloud backend servers and managing message formats and APls' native application logic to meet the communication constraints of resource-limited end devices. LDAF enables API aggregation, efficient binary message serialization and application adaptation.
Applying a customized services for the LDAF minimizes communication and computation load for the end device. This enables it to run over low-power networks (e.g. LoRa WAN, NB-loT) and to drastically improve device autonomy. At the same time, we can adapt the service to support and existing backend platform. Of the shelf platforms can be applied without any platform API customizations, which are usually demanding, expensive, or even impossible.
Stage of development
Design, development and testing of new service modules for the LDAF framework. Implementation of the results in an experimental proof of concept. Technology validated in lab with popular location tracking devices (e.g. A9G) and established tracking backend platforms (e.g. Traccar). Current stage of development TRL 2 -technology concept formulated.
Challenge and needs
Prior-Art search for this technology still needs to be done. Future development and testing of new service modules for the LDAF framework and implementation of the results in an experimental proof of concept still needs to be done.
The technology is not yet protected by a patent.
Potential markets and targets
Potential markets and targets for use cases target the cargo tracking in the logistic, but can be easily extended to other application domains, too.
Inventors can find potential partners in IoT companies. Potential partners for this solution are also cargo tracking companies and largest logistics companies.
