Oisair Network
Low investment in R&D, poor Intellectual property protection and weak technology transfer activities are currently the main features of the innovation system of the Adriatic-Ionian Region. Against this background, the OISAIR Project develops a wide set of activities aimed at creating an attractive Adriatic-Ionian Open Innovation System, competitive at regional as well as at macro-regional level, consolidating and strengthening the development of industrial and entrepreneurial activities within a virtuous circle involving relevant stakeholders from research to public administration.
Funded by the OISAIR project, the Network is composed by 7 innovation centers and supporting institutional partners placed in the Adriatic-Ionian Region pulled together into a powerful knowledge and infrastructure sharing system that operates locally and transregionally to:
- improve skills and competencies of R&D centres by assisting the creation of innovation networks beyond borders.
- stimulate SMEs’ access to research infrastructures and labs and increase business investments in R&I
- valorize research results and establish durable links and synergies between enterprises, R&D centres and research infrastructures of the whole Adriatic Ionian area.
The transnational OISAIR Network is based on a Hub&Spoke approach integrating two operational levels: local & transnational. Locally established Innovation Centers (Spokes) scout research results, gather SMEs needs and promote innovation opportunities. At transnational level the Hub (AREA Science Park), coordinates their activities and acts as gate matching demand & offer of services & research results, offering networked specialized services & infrastructures.
